JOB SUMMARY

The Project Manager oversees the planning, implementation, and tracking of a specific short-term/long term refrigeration Installation (primarily, may include some additional trades) project which has a beginning, an end and specified deliverables, with primary focus on financial, schedule, project management and quality performance objectives. Knowledge of commercial and industrial refrigeration, project management, workplace safety, customer relations, accounting processes, bid development & sales is required.

Responsibilities

Project/Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee projects as per owner prints, specifications and CoolSys guidelines.
  • Understand the entire scope of the project.
  • Develop refrigeration scope of the project for contractors if required.
  • Create a detailed project execution plan (PEP) which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project.
  • Prepare and implement a communication plan that meets the client reporting requirements and completing all necessary forms and paperwork supplied by CoolSys to properly document the project as well as bring project to satisfactory completion.
  • Keeps all personnel involved in the project informed. Manage all communication amongst the team to foster an open environment of positive communication and teamwork to proactively solve issues and successfully execute the project scope.
  • Coordinates sand plans Installation projects:
  • Oversees procurement of materials, permits, supplies.
  • Orchestrates schedule.
  • Ensures costs are accurately forecasted.
  • Oversees Change Orders.
  • Develops and maintains productive relationships with customers, GCs and subcontractor.
  • Educate owners, GC’s and CoolSys entities /sub-contractors in the proper methods of Refrigeration/EMS installations, start-up and operations.
  • Visit the owner jobsites at agreed on times and as scheduled by the General contractor in writing.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves any issues in a timely fashion.
  • Ensures use of PPE and the application of safe behaviors, including driving.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or completion of trade program or technical school. College degree is a plus.
  • 5 + years formal project management experience in commercial building construction, refrigeration, HVAC or a related industry/trade. PMP preferred.
  • Strong business acumen and project management skills, including knowledge of automated project management tools, financial reports and general knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, set and balance competing priorities with strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Strong analytical capability and the ability to solve complex business problems.
  • Frequent overnight travel is required, estimated at 30% - 50%.
  • Excellent verbal/nonverbal, written, and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate timely, clearly, and concisely.
  • Outstanding relationship building skills, including the ability to proactively address customer issues and concerns, and forge strong working relationships with senior level customer representatives and General Contractors.
  • Demonstrated track record of accurate project estimating, labor forecasting and change control.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and other technical documents.
  • Ability to use computer tools including E-Mail, Word, Excel, Project Planning Software (Projectmates), etc.
  • Knowledge of jobsite safety, ability to oversee work activities to ensure safe work practices and safety rule compliance.
  • Ability to understand and follow all company policies and procedures and all applicable State and Federal laws.
  • Ability to manage time, delegate assignments and follow through to ensure good results.
  • Excellent verbal/nonverbal and written communication and presentation skills.
